Day Training In Oswego

A unique training approach that combines the structure and results of private lessons with the convenience and fulfillment of doggy daycare.

Interested in private lessons but want a little more consistency than training once a week? Or have you thought about a board & train but feel uneasy about being away from your dog for an extended period of time? Day Training is designed to be a great middle ground!

Depending on your program of choice (half days or full days), your dog will get picked up from home in the morning two or three days a week. With each day tailored to their individual progress and your overall goals, your dog will learn leash manners in local parks, core obedience commands in dog-friendly stores, confident neutrality in downtown areas, and more!

Don’t think your dog is ready for such big adventures? Some training sessions can and will be done at home or in your own neighborhood. This program is highly fluid and customizable, with the ultimate goal being the development and cultivation of well-trained, confident dogs!

About the Program

Which Day Training Program is Best For You?

Half Days vs. Full Days

Half days are scheduled on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, while full days occur on Tuesdays and Thursdays. For both programs, pick up takes place at your house between 8:00am and 9:00am.

For half days, your dog comes home between noon and 1:00pm, while full day dogs get dropped off between 5:00pm and 6:00pm.

Throughout the day, your dog will receive multiple training sessions, loose leash practice, and positive experiences in a variety of environments. You will also receive daily photo and video updates of your dog’s progress, as well as detailed training plans to give you the confidence to maintain your training at home!

Not home during pick up and drop off hours? Many owners entrust their trainer with a spare key or entry codes. Similar to what you’d expect from hiring a dog walker, you’ll receive a heads up and ETA updates to let you know when we’re arriving, if we plan to do any in-home training, and when we leave. We want every owner we work with to feel confident letting us into their home, whether you’re present or not!

The Day Training program is designed to be beneficial to a wide variety of owners. If you have any of the following goals, look no further!

  • Coming home to a dog you know is fulfilled and tired.

  • A dog who walks politely and calmly through the neighborhood on a loose leash.

  • A dog you can confidently take to busy downtown areas, farmers markets, at restaurant patios.

  • And more!

Due to the pick up and drop off structure of Day Training, this program is limited to owners who live in Oswego, Montgomery, Yorkville, Aurora, and Naperville! If you live outside these areas, check out our Private Lessons!
